The title track, Summon the Heroes, was written by one of the biggest living icons in the world of composing, American John Williams, now well into his ninth decade and still creating music which delights audiences everywhere. Cory Band’s leader and Principal Cornet Tom Hutchinson sparkles in the opening cornet solo, transcribed brilliantly by Philip Sparke from the original trumpet solo created for Tim Morrison and the Boston Pops Orchestra. The music was composed in 1996 for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Atlanta and is a fitting curtain-raiser for Cory’s programme.
