"The popularity of this Christmas song by Adolphe Adam was revived in recent years by Liciano Pavarotti and is here given in an arrangement for tenor solo, four-part choir and brass band. In the absence of a tenor soloist, however, the solo line is doubled by the solo trombone and the choir parts are doubled by cornets and tenor horns, so this arrangement could stand as a brass band item in itself. It is a relatively simple transcription and quite faithful to Adam's original. The euphoniums are kept pretty busy with Adam's rippling triplets, and there is very basic percussion line. This arrangement should be within the capabilities of bands of most levels of ability and it is good to see a new arrangement of a lovely Christmas piece which does not appear in seasonal programmes often enough".

Zadok the Priest van Georg Friedrich Händel wordt uitgevoerd sinds de kroning van koning George II. Hierbij wordt de Bijbelse symboliek van de goddelijke zalving van koning Salomo benadrukt. Tijdens de kroningsliturgie wordt dit gezongen door het knapenkoor van Westminster Abbey. 

Het stuk werd voltooid voor oktober 1727 en werd toen voor het eerst uitgevoerd. Händel gebruikte verschillende maatsoorten voor deze feestelijke barokke compositie.Dit stuk wordt gerekend tot de bekendste werken uit het oeuvre van de componist.

De hymne van de Champions Leage is deels gebaseerd op dit werk.

Missa Gloriosa voor Koor en orgel, of Koor met vier-stemmig blaasensemble.

De kern van deze mis bestaat uit de vaste misdelen Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Benedictus en het Agnus Dei. Aangevuld met Alleluia, Amen en de instrumentale delen Offertorium, Communio en Postludium resulteerde dit in deze Missa Gloriosa.

Er kan ook gekozen worden voor een Missa Brevis Gloriosa bestaande uit Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, Benedictus en het Agnus Dei. Losstaande delen behoren tot een uitvoeringsmogelijkheid tijdens de liturgie of op het concertpodium.

Missa Brevis, geschreven voor koor en blaasorkest, werd gecomponeerd in opdracht van de Conseil Départemental pour la Musique et la Culture de Haute-Alsace in Guebwiller (Frankrijk), ter gelegenheid van het duizendste geboortejaar van paus Leo IX. In zijn geboorteplaats, Éguisheim (Elzas, Frankrijk), vond op 23 juni 2002 de première van deze mis plaats onder leiding van de componist.

Dit bekende Engelse kerstlied, dat stamt uit 1885, is op eenvoudige en stijlvolle wijze gearrangeerd voor blaasorkest.

Deze fantasie over kerstliederen werd voor het eerst uitgevoerd in 1983 door het Hope College Choir, Holland Community Choral, orkest en orgel tijdens een concert en televisie opname in het Amerikaanse Holland-Michigan. Tegelijkertijdmaakte Jan de Haan een transcriptie voor ha/fa/bra waardoor het werk zowel instrumentaal als met koor (SATB) en/of orgel ad libitum uitvoerbaar is.Jan de Haan maakte in Christmas Fantasy gebruik van de liederen: Esist ein Ros’ entsprungen, O Little Town of Bethlehem, Once in Royal David’s City, The Herald Angels Sing, God Rest Ye Merry Getlemen en Good King Wenceslas. Koorpartijen zijn verkrijgbaar in het Nederlands en Engels.
