A Fanfare of Bells€ 134,99A Fanfare of Bells is festivalmuziek die is gecomponeerd voor een speciale gelegenheid: in 2012 nam de jonge 3BA Brass Band uit Duitsland voor het eerst deel aan de kampioensdivisie van het Vlaams Open Brassband Kampioenschap in het Belgische Mechelen: een festival van premières. A Fanfare of Bells bevat dan ook muziek in festivalsfeer.

In het Trio komt een breed gezongen motief naar voren, dat langzaam opbouwt naar een groot tutti, waarna de melodie nog een keer in volle glorie terugkomt.

Bellum et Pax€ 232,00Bellum et Pax is een compositie die twee oeroude begrippen verklankt: ‘oorlog’ en ‘vrede’. Qua structuur is het werk op te vatten als een eendelig muziekstuk met vier in elkaar overlopende onderdelen. Het geheel begint met mysterieus en dreigend slagwerk om via een kort recitatief van de sopraansaxofoon uit te monden in een klaagzang, vertolkt door de bugel.

Catedrales€ 139,99Opzet: Een kathedraal spreekt tot de verbeelding: honderden jaren lang werd er met man en macht gewerkt om het bouwwerk klaar te krijgen, niet voor niets zijn het tot op vandaag imposante schouwspelen van bouwkunst en geschiedenis. De kathedraal was dan ook een dankbare inspiratiebron om een werk te componeren vol akoestische echo-effecten, gregoriaanse melodieën en orgelachtige koraalthema's.

The hymn tune on which these variations are based is the third of nine that Thomas Tallis wrote in 1567 as part of a psalter for the first Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury, Matthew Parker. It was later used by Vaughan Williams in the English Hymnal and as the basis for his Fantasia.
