The Great Train Robbery is based on an actual train robbery which took place in 1855. The film boasted a rip-roaring score by Jerry Goldsmith. Composers have long been interested in depicting train movement through music and Goldsmith is no exception – this dashing scherzo music bristles with excitement and energy and is intended to open the evening with a bang!

Jekyll & Hyde is een musical uit 1990 die grotendeels gebaseerd is op de novelle Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde uit 1886 van Robert Louis Stevenson. Oorspronkelijk geconcipieerd voor het theater door Frank Wildhorn en Steve Cuden, met muziek van Frank Wildhorn, een boek van Leslie Bricusse en teksten van hen allen. Na een wereldpremière in Houston, Texas, begon de musical aan een nationale tournee door de Verenigde Staten voorafgaand aan zijn Broadway-debuut in 1997. Vele internationale producties in verschillende talen zijn sindsdien op de planken gebracht, waaronder twee Noord-Amerikaanse tournees, twee tournees in het Verenigd Koninkrijk, een concertversie, een vernieuwde Amerikaanse tournee in 2012, een Broadway-revival in 2013 met Constantine Maroulis, en een Australische concertversie in 2019. A New Life beschrijft Jekyll's geliefde Lucy, die droomt van een nieuw leven zonder de angst voor Hyde. Hyde komt echter binnen en vindt een liefdesbriefje van Dr. Jekyll aan Lucy. In een vlaag van jaloezie steekt Hyde haar dood, niet wetende dat hijzelf Dr. Jekyll is.

Slipknot is een Amerikaanse heavy metal band, opgericht in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995 door percussionist Shawn Crahan, drummer Joey Jordison en bassist Paul Gray. Slipknot staat bekend om zijn aandachttrekkende imago, agressieve muziekstijl, en energieke en chaotische live shows. De band werd snel beroemd na de release van hun gelijknamige debuutalbum in 1999. "The Devil in I" is afkomstig van hun vijfde album, The Gray Chapter. Het is de tweede single van het album en de eerste die wordt uitgebracht op de radio en muziekzenders, want de vorige single "The Negative One" werd alleen digitaal uitgebracht.

The Devil in I is gearrangeerd voor de Tredegar Town Band voor Brass in Concert 2021. Het werk behoudt de "heavy metal" sound terwijl het polytonale botsingen integreert om het spectrum van de brassband te verkennen.
