Crossing Worlds€ 132,50Het concerto voor cornet, Crossing Worlds, werd gecomponeerd in opdracht van de Zwitserse cornettiste Kathleen Gaspoz, die brassbandgeschiedenis schreef toen ze na tweehonderd jaar de eerste vrouw werd die de functie van principal cornettiste kreeg in zowel de beroemde Brighouse & Rastrick Band als de Grimethorpe Colliery Band. Crossing Worlds bestaat uit drie afzonderlijke delen (‘Getaway’, ‘Skylights’ en ‘Welcome Parade’); het werk volgt de reis van een musicus of musicienne die tijdens zijn of haar omzwervingen verschillende landen, culturen en landschappen ontdekt.

The brief variations are in a variety of moods and styles, including a waltz, a polonaise, a chorale, a canon, an arabesque, and a fugue. It tests ensemble coordination, command of and flexibility concerning styles, and richness of sound.
