Monolith - partituur€ 32,50De compositie 'Monolith' is geschreven in opdracht van NEW MUSIC NOW Files en is gebaseerd op het Groninger Forum: de architectuur en hoe dit gebouw positie inneemt in het centrum van de stad Groningen. Het ontwerp en de eigenschappen van dit gebouw vormden, in een vertaalslag naar muzikaal materiaal, het startpunt van het compositieproces.

Sand and Stars beschrijft de reis van piloot en schrijver Antoine de Saint-Exupéry bij diens poging het snelheidsrecord voor de vlucht Parijs-Saigon te breken. Na een start zoals gepland, eindigt de reis voortijdig midden in de Libische Woestijn met een gecrasht vliegtuig en de redding – net op tijd –¬ van de piloot en zijn navigator. Dit zeer kleurrijke stuk, geschreven in zes delen, varieert tussen een mysterieuze sfeer, het oorverdovende geluid van een vliegtuig dat de grond raakt en de levendigheid van een Arabische dans, onderbroken door kornet- en eufoniumsolo’s, om te eindigen met spectaculair muzikaal vuurwerk.

Of Men and Mountains€ 132,95Of Men and Mountains was commissioned by the Netherlands Brass Band Championships for their 10th Anniversary Contest, held in Drachten in December 1990.
The title of the work and its genesis came about as a result of a train journey the composer took in July 1989 across Canada from Toronto to Vancouver. The awe-inspiring journey through the Rocky Mountains, with its high peaks and shafts of sunlight breaking through the clouds, with its canyons and ferocious rapids, made the composer understand a little more about the majesty of nature and the fragility of humanity. The eternal struggle between man and nature was personified in the building of this incredible railway, hence the title (after Blake).
The work is dedicated to the memory of Eric Ball, who died shortly before the writing of the work was commenced.
Of Men and Mountains is in one continuous movement and lasts about 17 mins. Its form is difficult to describe because of its motivic and accumulative nature, but it is essentially a symphonic tone poem in search of a theme, which eventually comes in its final and complete state in the majestic ending after an ever-increasing paced scherzo.

Nyhavn is een grote toeristische trekpleister. 1:Aan de haven vindt men een huizenrij in verschillende kleuren. 2:Den Lille Havrue is de kleine zeemeermin, een wereldberoemd standbeeld in Kopenhagen. 3:Amalienborg ligt in het stadsdeel Frederikstaden en is de residentie van de Deense vorsten.

A Tribute to Henk Badings€ 189,99Aan de basis van dit verplichte werk voor de concertafdeling Brassband WMC 2001 lag de eerbied van Rob Goorhuis voor één van de grootste Nederlandse componisten uit de 20e eeuw die trouwens ook veel voor de blaasmuziekwereld heeftbetekend.
Goorhuis wilde de zachtaardige kant van de brassband belichten en zegt hierover: "De basis is een thema van 12 tonen dat Badings ooit heeft bedacht voor het Internationale Orgelimprovisatie Concours in Haarlem. Mijn orgeldocent nam destijds ook aan dat concours deel en dat thema is op één of andere manier in mijn achterhoofd blijven hangen." De componist bedacht een reeks variaties en clusterde ze in bundels van drie, zo bleef de melodiedivers, maar toch herkenbaar.
