Sachi Uchida: "My father was critically ill when I decided to write this piece. Some sad melodys came up on my mind. But because I wished him well, I wrote this cheerful tune and added the word "paradoxically". -

The words tell the story of an ancient knight wounded in battle and dying on the battlefield who is healed by a mysterious old lady appearing from across the moors and swiftly vanishing again.

Susato Variations€ 134,99Tylman Susato (circa 1500-1561) was one of the worlds first music publishers and seller of musical instruments. He left behind several collections containing arrangements of Dutch songs and dance and also published several of his own works. Three of these, published in 1551, were called Musyck Boexken, or music book. Almost 500 years later, Jan de Haan has used one of these melodies, Mohrentanz, for this theme with three variations.

Philip Harpers fantastische arrangement weerspiegelt de sfeer en de klanken van de originele Beatles-versie.
