Majestic Mountain€ 112,65De prachtige natuur rond de Nærøyfjord in het zuidwesten van Noorwegen, waar het hooggebergte direct uit de fjord oprijst. Nærøyfjord, een van de smalste fjorden ter wereld, staat op de lijst van UNESCO.

Fanfare for an Occasion€ 83,77Fanfare for an Occasion werd gecomponeerd als inzending voor de 'International Brass Band Composer Competition 2020' georganiseerd door Andrew Wainwright. De juryleden waren James Curnow, Dr. Liz Lane en Paul Hindmarsh. Er waren ongeveer 92 inzendingen en 'Fanfare for an Occasion' werd bekroond met de 2e plaats. Het is sindsdien gereviseerd en georchestreerd voor harmonieorkest en fanfareorkest.

Lough Leane€ 102,25Lough Leane is geschreven in opdracht van "Koninklijke Harmonie De Verenigde Vrienden - Bree" als muzikaal eerbetoon aan hun voorzitter Luc De Bruyne. Het werk probeert de schoonheid weer te geven van Lough Leane, het grootste meer van Killarney in Ierland. De dichte akkoorden geven een mysterieuze mistlaag weer boven het meer. Geleidelijk aan komt de zon op waardoor die mistlaag wegtrekt en de prachtige natuur rond het meer en op de eilanden zichtbaar wordt. Doorheen het hele werk is de Ierse invloed zeer sterk merkbaar. Hopelijk kan Lough Leane u doen wegdromen van het prachtige landschap in een van de mooiste landen van de wereld!

Copernicus€ 115,54Nicolaus Copernicus (1473 – 1543) werd geboren in Toruń, een Poolse Hanzestad. Hij studeerde rechten, geneeskunde, theologie, Grieks, wiskunde en astronomie. Het is in dat laatste studiegebied dat Copernicus naam en faam verwerft. Voorheen werd aangenomen dat de zon rond de aarde draaide, totdat de Pool zijn visie gaf. Hij ontwikkelde het heliocentrisch model, waarbij de planeten rond de zon draaien. Die theorie goot hij in een boek: de Revolutionibius Orbium Coelestium. Aanvankelijk stootte hij hiermee de kerk tegen de borst en werd het boek op de verboden lijst gezet, maar uiteindelijk overwint de kennis en dient het werk van Copernicus als basis voor de ontwikkeling van exacte wetenschappen.

The Spartan Warriors€ 124,78The Sparta army is well-known in the time of the ancient Greek that the warriors would never lay down their weapons for any reason. The theme from the beginning of the piece strongly declares that the warriors are always willing to fight for their homeland. The slow movement reflects the feeling of the warriors when they are far away from their loved one due to their duty. The composers intently uses the harmony that gives a hopeful feeling but also painful at the same time. The audience can hear the bell during the piece. It is the symbol of the clock towers which located in every cities. Everytime that the warriors leaves a city, the sound of the bell becomes softer and softer until it disappears. Only at the end of the piece that the bell rings only one last time after the majestical theme. It's the bell of victory!

Penlee€ 157,71To some, the tragic story of the Penlee lifeboat, Solomon Browne, would need no introduction, and to some the pain felt is still very much a reality. The composer, born just a few weeks before that fateful night on the 19th December 1981, has created this work as a musical homage to the bravery of the souls who lost their lives and has dedicated it to their memory.
Penlee was commissioned by the Cornwall Youth Brass Band using funds bequeathed by Michael Pickett. The first performance was given by the Cornish Youth Brass Band, conducted by Ian Porthouse, at St. Michael’s Church, Newquay, on 30th December 2008.

Nightglow€ 77,41The young British composer Ben Hollings found his inspiration for 'Nightglow' during a night out in the open air. The work is inspired by a nocturnal celestial scene in which the scattered stars, comets, galaxies and other astronomical elements create a warm 'nocturnal glow' in the darkness of space. A beautiful slow work for any band!
The work was commissioned by K.F. De Berthoutzonen as part the collaboration 'Fanfarissimo' between 9 fanfare bands to expand the original repertoire.
