Die Himmel rühmen des...€ 97,99‘Die Himmel rühmen des Ewigen Ehre’ is de eerste regel van het gedicht ‘Die Ehre Gottes in der Natur’, dat werd geschreven door Christian Fürchtegott Gellert (1715-1769). De muziek die Beethoven bij de tekst componeerde, werd gepubliceerd in 1803, als vierde lied in een cyclus van zes (6 Lieder nach Gedichten von Gellert, opus 48).

Het is afkomstig uit zijn sonate nr. 23 in F-mineur, opus 57 (Appassionata), die hij componeerde in 1804-1806. Dit is het vierde deel uit de suite in d-klein (HWV 437) voor solo-klavecimbel. Het werk kreeg grote bekendheid door het instrumentale gebruik in de film Barry Lyndon van Stanley Kubrick uit 1975. Ook Brian De Palma gebruikte dit deel voor de film Redacted uit 2007. -
