Festa Paesana

Festa Paesana captures the essence of Lunteren’s annual village festival, blending folkloric sketches with the Dutch anthem “Wien Neerlands bloed.” It begins with a festive introduction featuring elements of the anthem, leading into a lively portrayal of a horse auction. As the auction reaches its climax, the night concludes with a majestic variation of the anthem. The following morning, the village awakens to the reveille of heralds, depicted through a fugatic rendition of the anthem. Throughout the day, the festivities unfold with carriage rides, folk dances, and marching bands, accompanied by variations of the anthem theme.
