"The popularity of this Christmas song by Adolphe Adam was revived in recent years by Liciano Pavarotti and is here given in an arrangement for tenor solo, four-part choir and brass band. In the absence of a tenor soloist, however, the solo line is doubled by the solo trombone and the choir parts are doubled by cornets and tenor horns, so this arrangement could stand as a brass band item in itself. It is a relatively simple transcription and quite faithful to Adam's original. The euphoniums are kept pretty busy with Adam's rippling triplets, and there is very basic percussion line. This arrangement should be within the capabilities of bands of most levels of ability and it is good to see a new arrangement of a lovely Christmas piece which does not appear in seasonal programmes often enough".

Pieter Huizenga (18 years old) wrote this cheerful English march for Brass Band Pro Rege (Heerenveen) for their participation in the Golden Spiker Festival 2019. The march describes the feeling of pride, satisfaction and happiness of the band for their participation in the Dutch Brass Band Championships in 2018.

Testpiece Dutch Brass Band Championships 2003 3rd Division

Written by Keneth Downie for the 25th. Anniversary of the Netherlands Brass Band Championships in 2005 and used again in 2006. The composer writes: I borrowed the title for this music from J.S.Bach. Any similarity with Bach is very loose and superficial however. I am really only using the term to describe a suite, invented by me which happens to be in three movements.

The wonders and beauty of nature are brought to the fore in this traditional Irish folk song. "Walk with me through the woodland glades, See the beauty that surrounds us, as we hear the sweet Lark sing in the clear air today... :". You can hear the Lark in this beautiful arrangement by Patrick Millstone.

The international melody “Ohne Rast und unverweilt” by Justin Heinrich Knecht inspired Feike van Tuinen to write this chorale arrangement. With lyrical lines and colorfully instrumented, this work is very suitable in your concert programm.

Sylvester Suite was written by composer Marc van Delft in the Christmas New Year period, around New Year, the "Sylvester period". The work was commissioned by the Netherlands Institute for Wind Music for the Dutch Brass Band Championships as a 3rd division work.

In the Frisian Language "Swietbek" means "Sweet tooth".  The melody is based on song "You Live in my Heart", from the Simmertime concerts of the Frisian Music Theater in the year 2000.
