Morning Song€183.48Morning Song features the horn quartet mostly in a soloistic role - indeed there is an accompanied cadenza towards the end of the piece - but there are moments where the horns assume their conventional concert band role as harmonic support or playing the counter melody. This expressive composition shows all the versatility of the horn quartet and gives them the chance to be in the spotlight.

Tango for Joe€91.73Tango for Joe verkent de lyrische eigenschappen van de trombone. Na een lange introductie speelt de solist de belangrijkste tangomelodie boven een ritmische begeleiding. In het stuk wisselen band en solist elkaar af. Een cadensachtige passage leidt tot een snellere ‘tango nuevo’, die het grootste deel van het werk uitmaakt. Na een climax en uitgebreide cadens door de trombone eindigt het stuk met een apotheose.

Little Clover€83.48Deze kornetsolo werd geschreven in opdracht van de Zwitserse kornettiste Carole Rudaz, ter gelegenheid van haar veertigste verjaardag. Omdat het zo zeldzaam is, wordt het klavertjevier in de westerse cultuur als geluksbrenger beschouwd. Maar de driebladige klaver – de shamrock of Little Clover – is een van de symbolen van Ierland, dat ook bekendstaat om zijn fraaie traditionele volksmuziek, waar deze Ierse fantasie sterk door is beïnvloed. De compositie bestaat uit drie delen: het eerste, in 6/8 maat, is zeer levendig en virtuoos. Na een korte cadens introduceert het tweede deel een thema met een melancholisch tintje, terwijl het laatste deel, een dans in 2/2 maat, het thema uit het tweede deel halverwege hervat en het werk vrolijk afsluit.
