Lux€78.97
On 14 September 2021, Luc Craps died of cancer at the age of 59. He was a true pacesetter, extremely funny when he could, serious when necessary. Some time after his death, Luc's wife Erika asked close friend Roger to write a work in lasting memory of Luc.
Luc, a gifted cornet player, was a musician from the band 'Bravour' from the very beginning. He also co-founded Quatre Brass, a spin-off of Bravoer consisting of four musicians, including the composer of this work.
That is why the composition starts with a tender melody, performed by four soloists. Because the composer knew that Luc could be very moved by simple, melodic music, the work was therefore deliberately written in this style.

La Cathédrale Engloutie€87.50
Debussy's La Cathédrale Engloutie is an impressionist masterpiece that depicts the legend of a sunken cathedral that slowly rises from the sea at sunrise. In this edit for fanfare, Jord Spruyt has convincingly captured the rich timbres and mystical atmosphere of te original translated to the brass and saxophone ensemble. The music exudes a majestic tranquility, in which it waves harmonies, solemn chords and subtle dynamics together form an enchanting soundscape.

Symphonic Overture€141.70
Symphonic Overture by James Barnes is a vibrant and expressive work that seamlessly blends power, lyricism, and symphonic depth. Originally commissioned by the U.S. Air Force Band, the piece showcases Barnes’ masterful ability to craft compelling melodies and dynamic contrasts, resulting in a musical narrative that captivates both performers and audiences alike.
In this new arrangement for fanfare orchestra by Rickwin Poelma, the work takes on a fresh character. The unique timbral qualities of the fanfare ensemble highlight new colors and textures, while preserving the original’s energy and emotional impact. Poelma’s adaptation reflects both a deep respect for the source material and a keen understanding of the fanfare tradition.
Published by AM Music, this edition offers fanfare bands the opportunity to engage with a composition that is both technically rewarding and musically rich. Symphonic Overture is ideally suited as a concert opener, festival feature, or contest piece, and promises to leave a lasting impression through its bold spirit and expressive depth.

APATHEIA - score€56.99
Commissioned by WMC Kerkrade (NL) Dedicated to my dear friend and inspiration: Maestro Tijmen Botma The title APATHEIA has its origins in Stoicism and is aptly described in the international bestseller Ikigai – The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life. The Stoics did not strive for fame or material success, but for inner peace: the absence of negative emotions such as fear, shame, and anger, and the presence of positive feelings such as love, gratitude, serenity, and happiness. This state of balance, apatheia, forms the heart of this composition.
The work opens with a mysterious cell – a musical motif that is woven throughout the entire composition. This cell grows and transforms organically, forming the breeding ground for a lyrical unfolding. Solo lines gradually unfold the thematic material, with subtle references to the subsequent, more signal-like section. Here, technical and tonal challenges are not shunned, but always serve the musical expression. From bar 44 onwards, the work enters a more layered and grandiose phase. This passage, in which different tempos, independent lines, and ad libitum elements come together, offers the conductor plenty of room for interpretation and personal interpretation. The structure and freedom are reminiscent of Percy Grainger’s Lincolnshire Posy, ensuring that each performance is unique. Conductors often describe passages like this as the moments when “the young boys are distinguished from the real men.” The middle section of the composition is undoubtedly the emotional heart of the work. In this passage, the listener is carried away into a world of deep sensitivity and expression. From an intimate atmosphere, a powerful, melodic build-up gradually develops, culminating in a gripping climax, carried by the full instrumentation. This lyrical outburst, rich in color and sound, is a moment of catharsis — a musical breath in which emotion, beauty, and inner peace come together. The combination of transparent textures and warm harmonies makes this part an intensely experiential core moment within the work. With APATHEIA, I want to create not only a musical journey, but also an inner one. The work is written with a love of lyricism, depth, and instrumentation, and is dedicated with deep respect to Tijmen Botma — a friend, an inspiration, and a musical spirit who embodies this state of serenity like no other.
