Eilean nan Gobhar€80.00Acoustic Sketch is a piece for Brass Band and Carillon. The piece is build on the overtones of a fundamental, resulting in an acoustic scale. The idea is that these tones are audible in a bell of the carillon. The chords used in the band try to mimic this sound quality.
It is possible to play this work with chimes and bells.

The fanfare theme, as well as the choral theme, are based on the first four notes of the Kyrië from the Missa de Angelis (F-A-Bb-C). The mass itself is intended for feasts and commonly used in the Christmas mass. Therefore, next to being a great opener for your concerts, it can also be used during Christmas.

SHARDS!€70.00SHARDS! was commissioned by Brass Band Pro Rege Heerenveen as their opening work at the WMC World Brass Band Championships 2017.
A shard of glass has a hard surface that reflects light. It also refracts light, giving a kaleidoscopic effect, although its edge can also be sharp as a razor. The musical language in this work represents the hard, sharp and kaleidoscopic features of shards of glass. -

Redbad€189.99Redbad was the King of the Frisians during the period of c. 680 to 719. This musical portrait consists of seven connected movements which are closely interwoven thematically. The composer drew his inspiration from historical information, but also from stories, anecdotes, myths and legends from Redbad’s time. The work begins with a heroic theme that introduces the legendary King of the Frisians. Fragments of this theme keep returning throughout the work. By means of strongly contrasting thematic material, Hell or Heaven conveys the way Redbad refused to be converted to Christianity – according to one anecdote, this was because he was afraid that he would not be reunited with his forefathers in heaven. Redbad regularly fought the Franks from the south, who were led by Pepin of Herstal, or the Duke of the Franks. Because of his three nicknames, the Younger, the Middle and the Fat, this Frankish warlord is musically represented through solos played by the three trombone players. After Pepin’s death in 714, expressed in Elegy 1, a civil war broke out.
