He lived at the time of the Inquisition and his predictions and medical therapies as a physician caused him to face the wrath of the church forcing him to flee many times. Following the loss of his family to the plague he devoted himself to clairvoyancy. He predicted many events in history in coded form and although there are many ways to interpret these, many are believed to be accurate and Nostradamus is still considered to be a unique personality. Whether he is denounced as a charlatan or promoted as a myth he has surely moved humankind with his prophecies.Otto M. Schwarz, soundtrack composer since2001, wrote a cinematographic work about this man, who is probably the best-known prohet of the last 1000 years.

The Wiener Philharmoniker Fanfare Strauss composed in 1924 on the occasion of the Ball der Wiener Philharmoniker. The work was dedicated to the Vienna Philharmonic and received its premiere in Vienna on March 4, 1924. The composition was written for 22 brass and 2 timpani.

Rewenich€120.00The composition "Rewenich" tells the life story of 15th century knight Rienck Bockema, a story of conflict and reflection. The composition consists of five connected movements, each highlighting a phase in the life of Rienck Bockema ('Rewenich'). Bockema lived in Sneek at the Rodenburg manor (Nauwe Burgstraat). It soon became clear that Rienck Bokkema's world was bigger than Sneek. Because of his achievements during the battle against the Turks on Rhodes, he was knighted by King Edward III of England. When his wife Bott died suddenly, he went on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem for fear of guilt and eternal punishment. There he got a new holy mission: a crusade to Lithuania, where he fought at Grodno. After a turbulent time full of violence and battle, Rienck Bockema chose for contemplation. He founded a monastery near Sneek (the Thabor monastery) and became a monk. He spent the last period of his life in this monastery.

The theme from the beginning of the piece strongly declares that the warriors are always willing to fight for their homeland. The slow movement reflects the feeling of the warriors when they are far away from their loved one due to their duty. The composers intently uses the harmony that gives a hopeful feeling but also painful at the same time. The audience can hear the bell during the piece. It is the symbol of the clock towers which located in every cities. Everytime that the warriors leaves a city, the sound of the bell becomes softer and softer until it disappears. Only at the end of the piece that the bell rings only one last time after the majestical theme. It's the bell of victory!

Eilean nan Gobhar€80.00Acoustic Sketch is a piece for Brass Band and Carillon. The piece is build on the overtones of a fundamental, resulting in an acoustic scale. The idea is that these tones are audible in a bell of the carillon. The chords used in the band try to mimic this sound quality.
It is possible to play this work with chimes and bells.
