Swan Lake is one of the most famous and acclaimed ballets of the 19th century. Composed by Tchaikovsky in 1875-76, it was first performed in 1877 at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, but was a complete failure. Only after the composer's death did the ballet finally achieve success, with a new staging in St. Petersburg in 1895.

The Lezghinka is a dance originating among the peoples of the Caucasus. The Georgian composer Aram Khachaturian used a number of tribal dances in his ballet, Gayaneh; his music for the Lezghinka vividly captures the breathless intensity of the dance.

Ave verum corpus, is a motet in D major composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1791. It is the setting of the Latin hymn Ave Verum Corpus. Mozart wrote it for Anton Stoll, a friend who was the church musician of St. Stephan in Baden bei Wien.
